Your Mission
Deliver three pretend park messages by noticing nature closely, following a safe path, and leaving the outdoor space unchanged.
What You'll Need
- Paper mailbox cards
- Pencil or crayons
- Small pouch
- Optional park map
How to Do the Quest
- 1
Choose a familiar park path with an adult and agree to stay on marked routes, leave plants and pinecones where they are, and use only paper cards.
- 2
Draw three mailbox symbols on paper, such as a cone, tree, and bench, then keep the cards in a small pouch.
- 3
Walk to a safe observation spot and look for the matching natural feature without picking it up or moving it.
- 4
Write or draw a pretend message about what the group notices, such as a color, shape, or sound near that feature.
- 5
Place the completed card back in the pouch, then follow the path to the next marked observation spot.
- 6
At the end, sit at an approved bench or picnic table and read the messages as one tiny park-mail story before packing out every paper item.
Quest Challenge
Can the group make three different observation messages while leaving every natural item exactly where it belongs?
Pro Tip
A reusable pouch makes it easy to keep paper from blowing away and reinforces the leave-no-trace goal.
Safety First
Stay on approved paths with adult supervision, watch for weather and uneven ground, pack out all paper, and do not collect, feed, or disturb plants or wildlife.
